ASCORBIC ACID LEVELS IN BLOOD AND URINE AS RELATED TO ORAL HEALTH STATUS,

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD0425541 | Need Help?

Abstract:

Whole blood ascorbic acid determinations were carried out on 341 apparently healthy young adult males, both before and after the intravenous administration of 500 mg. of ascorbic acid. Four-hour urine recovery rates of this added ascorbic acid were also calculated. Ascorbic acid levels in these fluids were not significantly related to caries experience. Periodontal status could not be systematically correlated with ascorbic acid findings. The disappearance of injected ascorbic acid excess from the blood was found to be an exponential function in time. Author
