Abstract:

A thorough investigation was made of the use of he ATX pre-hydrophobed Acrilan in buoyant needled felts. These fibers performed excellently. Felts prepared from the ATX fibers may be laundered or dry-cleaned without serious degradation of their buoyant characteristics. Dry-cleaning, however, must be done with 100 pure solvent. The effect upon the buoyancy of the ATX needled felts by variations in the needle-felting technique was observed. Author
