Abstract:

The first interim report covers the preparation of specifications and designs for the major subassemblies for a pair of experimental models of the ultrastable Atomic Oscillator Device for Navigation-Guidance. The purpose of the first pair of experimental models is to demonstrate a stability of 5 parts in 10 to the 14th power over the specified temperature range of minus 54 degrees C to plus 71 degrees C and over an input voltage range of 20 percent. Later models are to be designed to meet the requirements for size 12 cubic foot, weight 40 pounds and power consumption 50 watts. Author
