Abstract:

The CR-XM-45U are experimental crystal units in the 90-kc to 200-kc frequency range. Investigation established that the only way by which the CR-XM-45U combination of requirements could be met was through lowering the OTR by 10 C to the 60 C to 70 C range use of the higher OTR made severe sacrifices in both performances and in parameters inevitable. Evaluation of the third group of experimental units--data are presented -- confirmed that satisfactory unit designs could be established throughout the frequency range if the lower OTR were utilized. A Technical Action Request TAR was issued, recommending that the 60 C to 70 C OTR be adopted and designs for the fourth final group of experimental were prepared. Author
