Abstract:

The attempt to make ZnIDPPhPO3 led, instead, to Zn2IDEPPhPO32 where IDP represents 2,2-imino dipyridine. The presumably analogous ZnpyPhPO3 was also prepared. It is suggested that these substances are polymers. Their thermal stabilities, however, are not high. This is related to the presence of neutral ligands and a strong bridging group. Reasons for the formation of the product observed are discussed. Author
