Abstract:

This paper describes seven statistical forecast techniques and their quick, easy use in pre paring a weather forecast under operational conditions. Each technique provides a set of tables and equations and requires no more than present observations and a desk calculator. Examples are given, and the difficulty of producing a forecast is estimated for each technique. Author
