Abstract:

The initial design of a receiver-coder for use as part of a solid- state TACAN transponder is discussed. Techniques developed for specific problem areas are covered, and experimental results obtained from a breadboard model given. The possible implications of the program on future TACAN development are examined and recommendations made for the future course of development.
