HEAT CAPACITY OF CRYSTALLINE POLYMERS AT LOW TEMPERATURES
Abstract:
Published heat capacity data on atactic and isotactic polypropylene, polyethylene and polytri fluoroethylene were analyzed by the method of Starkweather. The results of this analysis indicate that the model proposed by Stockmayer and Hecht for the thermal motions of crystalline polymers at low temperatures can yield information indicative of the structure of the polymer.
