Abstract:

The reaction of 2,2-bisNF2-1-fluoriminocycloheptane and NHF2 in fluorosulfonic acid yielded difluoroamino cyclo-octanes. Reaction conditions favorable for the preparation of alpha, alpha, alpha-trisNF2 toluenes were determined. 1,2,2-TrisNF2 hexane was prepared. A variety of a-difluoramino fluorimines were subjected to Beckman cleavage conditions to further define the scope of the reaction. A summary of the reaction of imines with NHF2 is presented. The reactions of CF2OF2 and OF2, with the CF32CFO- anion were studied. Extensive cleavage of the perfluoroisopropoxide anion occurred. Two new complex nitrate anions were prepared CH34NINO32 and CH34NBrNO32. The reaction of butoxyfluoriminocyanide with the methanol to give fluoriminocarbonates was accelerated by bases and depressed by acids. Rates of acid addition to various epoxides relative to the rates of epoxide homopolymerization were studied. Author
