Abstract:

Fiberglass-polyester resin laminates consisting of twelve plies of No. 181 Volan A fiberglass fabric impregnated with polyester resin were fabricated by vacuum bag curing under 24 inches of mercury at 275 degrees F for 1 hour. The results of tests on Specific Gravity, Resin Content, Barcol Hardness, Flexural Flatwise Ultimate Strength, Flexural Initial Modulus of Elasticity, Compression Ultimate Strength, Edgewise, Tensile ultimate strength at room temperatures and wet conditions are given.
