Abstract:

Tests were conducted to determine the suitability of the Delco-Remy starter relay for use in M60series tanks. The test item is an electrical relay in the engine starting circuit which energizes the starter motor and causes the starter drive gear to mesh with the gear train and crank the engine. It was concluded that a the starter relay is suitable for use in M60 and M60A1 tanks under temperate climate conditions, and b the starter relay should be subjected to test under arctic conditions.
