MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HIGHLY FILLED ELASTOMERS
Abstract:
Three experimental techniques are described, by means of which dynamic shear moduli and damping of filled rubbers may be determined within a frequency range from 0.1 to 100 cs, within a temperature range from -150 to 100 C and within a strain range from 0.001 to 0.5 shear. The preparation is described of polyurethane rubbers filled with different inert filler substances up to a volume content of 40. Measurements on those samples and on a model substance are reported. Shear moduli and damping are discussed as functions of temperature, frequency and shear strain. Author
