DESIGN STUDY OF AN INTEGRATED AIRBORNE TELEMETRY SYSTEM
Abstract:
The rocket telemeter study program was completed in the following phases of work 1 determination of accuracy and data requirements, 2 theoretical analysis of modulation methods, 3 comparative analysis of system capabilities, 4 survey of flight test range facilities, 5 preliminary system design, 6 component development and breadboard testing, and 7 feasibility model fabrication, test and delivery. New approaches to system and component design were required. The completed feasibility rocket telemeter system design represents a state-of-the-art advancement in an extremely compact, accurate and efficient telemetry system of high data capability. It is believed that this study program resulted in the development of the first 400 mw, true FM, all transistor transmitter. Author
