Abstract:

Research is concerned with the development of jet helicopters in the Soviet Union. The following observations were made 1 jet engines can be used to operate mechanical rotors or jet-powered rotors on helicopters 2 gas turbine engines for mechanical transmission of power to the rotors have serious weaknesses 3 jet-powered rotors have much better capabilities and can be placed on the tips of the blades or in the fuselage 4 turbojet engines are the best for tip mounting and 5 a compressor-driven rotor with the gas turbine mounted in the fuselage is the simplest type of singlerotor helicopter and has many inherent advantages.
