THE SILVER OXIDE-ZINC ALKALINE PRIMARY CELL. PART 3. CELL DESIGN
Abstract:
A theoretical method is derived for minimizing the weight or volume of an Ag oxide-Zn-KOH cell. All data were obtained with the preferred AgO electrodes, but the discussion is applicable to cells utilizing Agsub2O positive electrods. The specifications for a battery of minimum weight will include the emf, discharge current and time, and operating-temperature range. The temperature which has the poorest discharge characteristics was chosen as a basis for the calculations. This temperature will be the lowest at which the cell will have to operate. The characteristics of the cell are presented graphically.
