Abstract:
In this proposal, we will utilize a prostate cancer cohort from the VA hospitals to explorethe survival benefit among men diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer who receivedefinitive treatment (alone or with adjuvant therapies) compared to men who receive nondefinitive treatment; and we will assess the treatment related side effects that affect quality of life among men diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer who receive definitivevs. non-definitive treatment. The specific aims are:Aim 1: To examine the survival benefit among men diagnosed with metastatic prostatecancer that receive definitive treatment compared to men that receive non-definitivetreatment.
