Title:
Battlefield Acupuncture in the Treatment of Low Back Pain at a Military Treatment Facility
Report Date:
2022-04-29
Abstract:
In active-duty service members with low back pain not caused by trauma, does Battlefield Acupuncture, compared to CPG Module B local standard practices, improve medical readiness? In an active-duty primary care clinic, investigators conducted a retroactive chart review to determine LBPs impact on profiles and repeat and emergency department visits. Investigators completed a baseline assessment of provider knowledge regarding the DOD/VACPG for LBP. Investigators conducted training detailing CPG evidence and Module B recommendations to include LBPs readiness impact, then established a walk-in clinic to administer BFA. The investigators assessed the participants pain and disability pre and postintervention. The investigators will assess profile rates after data collection.
