Abstract:
From a simple sand mix consisting of washed silicon sand, bentonite and water it is possible to prepare synthetic green sands, synthetic dry sands, and air dried sands with excellent properties. The synthetic dry sand is prepared by merely oven drying the green sand. The addition of organic binders to green sand is also studied.
