Title:
Comparative Effectiveness of Psychotropic Medications for PTSD in Clinical Practice
Report Date:
2020-09-01
Abstract:
We have achieved two main deliverables in Fiscal Year 2020. First, results of Aims 1-3 were published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, explaining our methodology of extracting PTSD diagnoses and PCL measurements in VA users between 2016 and 2018. We also discussed clinical differences, including changes in PCL scores, among the five psychotropic medications assessed in this project (fluoxetine, sertraline, paroxetine, topiramate, and venlafaxine) .Second, we re-built the study cohort to include all VA users with a PTSD diagnosis between October 1,1999 and September 30, 2019. This new cohort will be used to complete Aim 4 of the project.
