Abstract:

This proposal describes a multidisciplinary study of correlated oxides and heterostructures that may potentially exhibit or enhance superconductivity. The study of artificial materials with startling electronic and magnetic properties has become one of the most exciting frontiers in condensed matter physics. Our unique approach combines cutting-edge materials science through oxide molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) synthesis with advanced tools such as angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES).
