Title:
Army Science and Technology for Army Aviation, 2025-2040
Report Date:
2016-02-15
Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to provide a review of current Army, Navy/USMC, Air Force, DARPA, OSD, NASA and industry aviation S and T plans, and to assess the use of innovative technologies that increase capabilities, overall mission effectiveness, survivability and lethality, while reducing sustainment requirements. From those reviews, the study team recommended the Army (1) conduct operational effectiveness analyses on system-of system concepts; (2) assess heavy vertical lift options; (3) revise the unmanned aerial system road map; and (4) develop manned/unmanned teaming systems.
