Abstract:
This volume provides a future-oriented inventory of military sociological research and illuminates the relationship between politics, society and the armed forces. The military organization culture and the leadership philosophy of the Bundeswehr, the change of the military task profile as well as the formation of the soldier's self-understanding through foreign assignments, but also the integration of women, the attractiveness of the armed forces and their economic modernization. The difficulties of the reception of military-sociological findings in the Bundeswehr are also taken into consideration. Observations for the perception of military-sociological research from the point of view of the responsible authorities in politics and the armed forces round off the volume.
