Title:
An Investigation of the Volatility Characteristics of Greases by Thermogravimetric Analysis
Report Date:
1969-05-01
Abstract:
Thermogravimetric analysis has been employed as a method of determining the minimum temperature at which to initiate long-term volatility testing for greases. It has also proved to be a useful tool in the conservation of time and quantity of sample used. This method has been established as an excellent means of determining the volatility characteristics of grease components such as additives, thickeners, and fluids, thereby aiding in the process of selection of the most compatible components for grease formulations having low volatility characteristics.
