Title:
Development of High Temperature -54 deg to 316 C Hydraulic Fluids for Advanced Strategic Air Launched Missile (ASALM) Application.
Corporate Author:
DAYTON UNIV OH RESEARCH INST
Report Date:
1981-12-01
Abstract:
This report discusses the research and development effort to obtain an improved -54 to 316 C hydraulic fluid for the advanced strategic air launched missile ASALM. The ASALM prototype vehicles have been designed, built and flown using M2V, a proprietary disiloxane-based hydraulic fluid. Materials with improved hydrolytic stability would be desirable to meet the long term storage requirement 10 years of the ASALM. Two chemical classes of fluids, both synthetic, have been selected as excellent candidates the silahydrocarbons and hydrogenated polyalphaolefins PAOs.
