Abstract:

Booster control system was investigated to determine the effects of various booster parameters on the handling qualities of an airplane. Tests showed that at no time during the bench tests was there any lag detectable in the system, and that the sensitivity of the system to small stick motions was exceptionally good. The final booster design showed no tendency to oscillate, overshoot or possess any undesirable transient characteristics which are common to boosters.
