Abstract:
A detailed design is presented for the intermediate processing steps of a compiler, written in C for UNIX based systems, for translating an equational programming language into a high level sequential programming language. Detailed discussions of the design and implementation of algorithms for performing in-depth semantic checking, data type propagation, range propagation, and graph-theoretic based scheduling are presented with numerous examples throughout.
