Abstract:
This report summarizes research accomplished under the aegis of the Microwave Research Institute and reflects the impact of the Joint Services Electronics Program on the research activities of faculty and students of the Institute. The program covers a broad spectrum rnaging from basic theoretical physics, mathematics, and engineering, to experimental investigations involving basic measurements, development of devices, and materials. The report is organized into two major divisions. The first, Electrophysics, includes the topics of Electromagnetics Acoustics Optics Quantum Electronics Solid STate and Materials Wave-Matter Interactions and Electric Power Engineering. The second, Systems, includes the topics of Communications Computer and Computer-Communications Networks Safety, Reliability and Software Engineering Systems, Control and Networks and Data Processing.
