Title:
Improving the Impact and Fracture Resistance of Fibrous Composites.
Corporate Author:
CAMBRIDGE UNIV (ENGLAND) DEPT OF ENGINEERING
Report Date:
1977-01-01
Abstract:
The report is the third in a trilogy on the fracture of fibrous composites prepared. It describes a study of the fracture mechanisms in fibrous composites. The report is divided into 2 sections the first part describes the temperature and strain-rate effects on the crack initiation energy and crack initiation energy and crack propagation energy of a carbon fibre-epoxy resin composite and a glass fibre-epoxy resin composite. The second part describes a study of the fracture mechanisms in a hybrid fibrous composite containing carbon and glass fibres. Author, PL.
