Abstract:

This report presents data from the evaluation and analysis of a select group of very high frequency VHF and ultrahigh frequency UHF AirGround AG communication antennas. Antenna patterns, gain, and voltage standing wave ratio measurements were made at the National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center NAFEC antenna range on both Federal Aviation Administration FAA specified and commercially available off-the-shelf antennas. These antenna data show that improved AG communications coverage can be obtained with some of the commercially available antennas. Author
