Abstract:
This is the second semiannual technical report for the ARPANRL X-ray Laser Program. The individual activities in the program include electron collisional pumping using picosecond laser heating of a cold plasma traveling wave TW high energy electron beam pumping nonlinear optical mixing starting with intense 1600 A radiation resonant charge transfer pumping using a laser plasma expanding into a neutral gas background, and theory, analysis, and numerical modeling in support of the above and other approaches. Some reprints of completed papers are included.
