Abstract:
A methodology is extended for inverse thermal analysis of energy-deposition processes. This methodology is in terms of numerical-analyticalbasis functions and equivalent source distributions, and provides relatively optimal parametric modeling of temperature fields associated withenergy deposition processes. The methodologys extension is by construction of numerical-analytical basis functions, based on the concepts ofeffective diffusion and effective advection. This extension permits parameter optimization with respect to different types of workpiece boundaryconditions, energy-deposition processes, and temperature-field constraints based on measurements.
