Abstract:
The objective of this effort was to develop a 4D visualization training device for Gray Eagle GE Unmanned Aerial Systems UAS gunnery in support of individual training and refresher training. The research team conducted a needs analysis to identify required gunnery task knowledge, skills, and abilities KSAs. The research team used the results of the needs analysis to develop a training device that visually represented the airspace in which the students operated depicted the associated models and graphics provided instructors andor Soldiers the ability to easily manipulate the models and provided sufficient information to address the KSAs that GE UAS crew members must be proficient in to engage a target successfully. The training device, Gunnery UAV Application, hardware, software, user guide, and instructional guide were provided to the GE instructors for use within the GE UAS Operator program of instruction.
