Abstract:
A computer program, labeled SUMARY, has been written to summarize sound speed values computed from oceanographic station data. The program determines the following values at each of 40 standard depths from selected data populations Mean, variance, standard deviation, minimum, 10th through 90th percentiles, first quantile, third quantile, maximum, and number of observations. Summary data is available on punched cards for 146 of 240 ocean data populations.
