Abstract:

In a study of the characteristics of a 5300 A pulsed laser light in water, the volume-scattering function measured was more sharply peaked in the forward direction than are those measured using ordinary sources. It was also found that a linearly polarized laser beam did not become depolarized upon passing through 18 attenuation lengths of lake water. Author
