Abstract:

This report consists of four appendices. The first briefly summarizes the reasons for and approach used in conducting the Future Undergraduate Pilot Training UPT Mission Analysis. The second appendix briefly describes the current UPT system in terms of system constraints, system elements, and management elements. The third appendix describes the processes used to identify future training requirements from task and commonality analyses of operational aircraft projected to be in the 1975 - 1990 force structure. The vehicle used to translate training requirements into performance levels is the Course Training Standard. This appendix describes the levels of performance used in the design of the syllabi for alternative Future UPT systems and discusses the probably form into which future Course Training Standards CTS will evolve. The fourth appendix considers Future UPT external influences such as UPT Production Rates, UPT graduate Assignment Distributions, the Student Pool and Characteristics, Student Screening and Selection, and Airspace and Air Traffic Control.
