Abstract:

Two first article SMU-64A permissive action link PAL simulators for the SUU-20A bomb rocket dispenser were subjected to environmental testing according to MIL-S-38981 USAF, dated 17 February 1969. One SMU-64A was subjected to high temperature and thermal shock and low temperature and thermal shock tests. One SMU-64A was subjected to humidity, mechanical shock, and vibration tests. The entire environmental testing sequence was completed with no visible mechanical failures or detectable electrical function degradations. Author
