Abstract:
It was found that explosively powered vortex ring generators with diameters between 2 and 18 inches can be built which generate high speed vortex rings reproducibly. Also, it was found that aerosol introduced into these vortex rings during ring formation is transported over considerable distance at high speed within the vortex ring.
