Abstract:
The program has two main objectives. The first is to demonstrate the feasibility of an RF turn on, RF turn off, reentrant stream crossed-field amplifier. The second objective of this program is to increase the power output capability by a factor of two. The first objective was met very successfully as RF turn on and RF turn off were demonstrated reliably in a number of experiments in two different amplifier types. The second objective was partially accomplished with very significant results.
