Title:
Thermodynamics of Titanium Alloys. I. Development of a Triple Knudsen Cell and Its Use to Study the Activity of Copper in the Titanium-Copper System.
Corporate Author:
CINCINNATI UNIV OH DEPT OF MATERIALS SCIENCE AND METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING
Report Date:
1969-12-01
Abstract:
The report describes the determination of the thermodynamic properties of the bcc solid solution of titanium-copper alloys. In conjunction with this investigation, a new technique was developed for the measurement of thermodynamic activity at high temperatures by the use of a triple Knudsen effusion cell, enriched isotopes of the pure solute, and a time-of-flight mass spectrometer.
