Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
The relative merits of a direct-conversion synchronous-detection receiver and a superheterodyne receiver are discussed and summarized. A compromise receiver configuration is proposed which first converts to a fixed IF and then synchronously detects the IF signal. A breadboard Image Suppression Loop is described. Data is given on measurements of mixers, local oscillators, and monolithic crystal filters. Author
