Abstract:
The phenyl ether of cellulose with gamma 75 was produced, and it was demonstrated that under the conditions used only the primary alcohol groups in the 6-position are etherified. The synthesis of highly substituted phenyl ethers of cellulose was carried out in two ways a by tosylation of phenyl cellulose with gamma 75, followed by reaction of the phenyltosyl ether of cellulose obtained with a solution of sodium phenylate b by the production of highly substituted tosylcellulose gamma 200 and its reaction with a sodium phenylate solution according to the method proposed.
