Abstract:
A tractable mathematical model has been formulated to predict the dynamic response of a suspended hydrophone to wave and flow effects. The model is shown to be a practical diagnostic tool with general application for studying pendulous suspensions excited by a flowing fluid. Periodic motion of the hydrophone suspension in the vertical and horizontal directions has been determined the probable cause of spurious hydrophone signals. Author
