Corporate Author:

Report Date:

Abstract:
In order to study periodic electrode phenomena we chose the anodic oxidation of formaldehyde dissolved in sulfuric acid at platinized platinum electrodes and room temperature. Studies of the periodic electrode process were done with two objectives 1 to gain insight in the mechanism in order to explain the characteristics of the oscillating electrode, and 2 to determine the possibilities for applying periodic phenomena.
