Abstract:
The GKD method is an approximate technique for solving the laminar boundary-layer equations. The objective of this investigation is to improve the method so that more accurate approximate solutions are obtained. The approximating function is identified as an area for improving the method, and several forms of this function are considered. A preliminary evaluation technique is developed to qualitatively evaluate various forms of the approximating function. This technique is employed to identify the form which should yield the most accurate approximate solutions. Approximate solutions obtained with the improved form are uniformly more accurate than those obtained with the present form. Author
