Abstract:

This is the third semi-annual report on an investigation of techniques and circuitry based on the use of two-state modulation systems, directed toward development of improved advanced power conditioning equipment. Improvements are sought with respect to smaller, lighter weight, more efficient and highly reliable power processing systems. During this reporting period, theoretical and experimental studies of DC-DC and DC-AC power processing systems and techniques were conducted. Operation of Current-Controlled Two-State InverterAmplifier Systems were studied, and a new Three-State System was developed. A study of Hall Effect current sensing was made. Single-ended transformer coupled output circuits for DC-DC applications were analyzed and theoretical performance data were generated. Three experimental power processors are discussed in the report 1 a 24 VDC at 25 A. ConverterRegulator 2 a 0-40 VDC0-12 A. Isolated ConverterRegulator and 3 a 150 VA Sine Wave Inverter. A brief study of magnetic cores for single-ended applications is included. Author
