Abstract:
Testing of the dc test vehicle was completed during the reporting period. The device was operated to dc power levels above two megawatts with unmeasurable drift tube interception and with collector performance as calculated. Some problems with cathode arcing were encountered. A comparison among the types of output cavity was made using cold-test measurements and computed information. Cavities were compared on the basis of efficiency, power handling capability, and tendency to oscillate in an unwanted mode. Author
