Title:
Meteorological Two-Axis Fluidic Wind Sensor Improvement Modification.
Corporate Author:
BOWLES FLUIDICS CORP SILVER SPRING MD
Report Date:
1974-02-01
Abstract:
Two matching pairs of round nozzles made by electro-depositing technique were selected as the improved performance two-axis wind sensor. The whole assembly was then calibrated through a rectangular-to-polar converter in a low speed wind tunnel. The performance improvement effort resulted in a reduction of maximum error in resolved wind speed over the 0 degree to 360 degree direction range from a previous plus or minus 50 down to a plus or minus 10 at 15 ftsec or 5 meterssecond tunnel wind velocity and an indicated direction angle error of less than plus or minus 10 degrees.
