It presents the results of An assessment of the training effectiveness of Operational Flight Trainer, and Cockpit Familiarization Trainer field tryout of an experimental synthetic and flight syllabus for P-3 replacement pilot training an economic analysis of the potential savings realizable from an improved instructional strategy and an analysis of the current flight engineer training syllabus. The requirement for a state-of-the-art P-3C flight simulator incorporating a six-degree of freedom motion platform and a visual system is discussed as are additional tasks that may be trained in this simulator.
