Report Date:

Abstract:
The purpose of the report is twofold first, an attempt is made to summarize and evaluate the methods available for the calculation of two-dimensional potential flows about airfoils, and second, to give a complete description of the powerful Douglas plane-potential-flow method along with a discussion of all its capabilities related to airfoils. The report is, therefore, divided into two parts. Part 1 Section 6.0 comprises the summary of methods and Part 2 Section 7.0, the description of the Douglas-Neumann potential flow program.
