Abstract:
Services were provided to finalize the design of the Prototype Propellant-Testing System, and a design package consisting of line drawings and specifications was completed. The components of the system include two cryogenic vessels, a propellant pump, a pipeline filter, vacuum-jacketed piping, valves, a load-cell weighing system with instrumentation, a load-cell calibrator, a mechanical vacuum pump, a diffusion pump, vacuum piping, utility piping, electrical service wiring, pressure, vacuum, and temperature transducers with instrumentation, and a structural-steel support skid. The flow system is designed for immediate use with liquid oxygen, liquid nitrigen, dinitrogen tetroxide, hydorgen peroxide, hydrazine, tetrafluorohydrazine, hydrocarbon fluids, and chlorinated solvents, and after minor modifications for future use with liquid fluorine, chlorine trifluoride, pentaborane, and liquid hyrdrogen.
